Created by renowned and experienced trainers, our self-study courses are designed to help you quickly learn and master essential theory and practical teaching skills related your chosen subject area.
You can progress through these courses at your own pace, watching videos, listening to podcasts, observing lessons, sharing ideas with peers, and completing reflective tasks. There are tests within all courses, but these are not as rigorous as the assessments on our qualifications and there is no teaching practice. If you successfully pass the final test, you will immediately receive a digital credential.
While our self-study courses may not be quite as demanding as full Trinity qualifications, they are designed to effectively help teachers develop their knowledge and teaching skills. In fact, many of our self-study courses contain content adapted from our Trinity qualifications. As a result, you may find them more comprehensive and challenging than some of the fast-track certificates available elsewhere.
All courses are fully online and self-access, offering you maximum flexibility to learn across multiple platforms at home or on the go, from anywhere in the world. You will receive an e-credential and e-certificate upon successful completion of your course. These comprehensive TEFL courses feature content adapted from our Trinity CertTESOL qualification and professionally filmed video tutorials delivered by our Trinity CertTESOL trainers.
They are ideal for teachers who want access to English for Asia's Trinity CertTESOL teaching methods and materials but don't need the observed teaching practice, assessments or accredited certificate that Trinity qualifications offer. They offer an excellent foundation for teachers wishing to progress to a Trinity CertTESOL or Cambridge CELTA later on. 50% of your TEFL Course fee will be deducted from the Trinity CertTESOL course fee if you choose to study with English for Asia.

20 hours | Pre-certificate
You are: New to teaching English or have some experience.
Your goals: Take the Trinity CertTESOL qualification or Cambridge CELTA, or strengthen your knowledge of grammar, phonology and teaching methodologies.
Accessible for 3 months.
20 hours | Drama focus
You are: A new or experienced teacher, with little or no experience using drama activities in the classroom.
Your goals: Confidently organise drama and play-based learning activities to help learners master essential soft skills.

20 hours | YL focus
You are: New to teaching English to young learners or have some experience.
Your goals: Build confidence in the areas of classroom management, materials design and teaching methodologies in the context of young learners.

Your goals: Confidently prepare learners for the Academic Module of the IELTS exam, and better understand the IELTS syllabus.

All of our self-study courses offer a digital credential if you pass. Your digital credential includes an e-certificate, which can be downloaded and printed, and a credential badge which can be displayed on your social media and LinkedIn profiles, allowing you to showcase your achievements.
Our credentials are incorruptible digital certificates encoded on blockchain, to ensure they cannot be altered or copied by anyone and can be easily verified by institutions. We use the same credential issuing platform as leading universities including Harvard, Oxford, Berkeley, and Johns Hopkins.
We take learning seriously. There are a couple of steps to take before you can get your credential, which are there to help you learn (you can't just click through the content and get a certificate).
At the end of each module, you will need to compete a short quiz. The questions check that you have understood key takeaway points from the module. You can attempt these quizzes as many times as you need to.
At the end of the course, you will need to take the final test. You will need to achieve a score of 50% or higher to complete the course. You have three attempts in total and can revisit sections you find difficult.
If you successfully pass the final test, you will immediately receive your digital credential.
