Choosing a self-study course

TEFL trainee studying on a laptop

Created by renowned and experienced trainers, our self-study courses are designed to help you quickly learn and master essential theory and practical teaching skills related your chosen subject area.

You can progress through these courses at your own pace, watching videos, listening to podcasts, observing lessons, sharing ideas with peers, and completing reflective tasks. There are tests within all courses, but these are not as rigorous as the assessments on our qualifications and there is no teaching practice.

While our self-study courses may not be quite as demanding as full Trinity qualifications, they are designed to effectively help teachers develop their knowledge and teaching skills. In fact, many of our self-study courses contain content adapted from our Trinity qualifications. As a result, you may find them more comprehensive and challenging than some of the fast-track certificates available elsewhere.

All courses are fully online and self-access, offering you maximum flexibility to learn across multiple platforms at home or on the go, from anywhere in the world. You will receive an e-credential and e-certificate upon successful completion of your course. Select below from our flexible TEFL courses, each covering a broad skillset, or focus on a specific area with one of our specialist courses.

TEFL courses

These comprehensive TEFL courses feature content adapted from our Trinity CertTESOL qualification and professionally filmed video tutorials delivered by our Trinity CertTESOL trainers.

They are ideal for teachers who want access to English for Asia's Trinity CertTESOL teaching methods and materials but don't need the observed teaching practice, assessments or accredited certificate that Trinity qualifications offer.  They offer an excellent foundation for teachers wishing to progress to a Trinity CertTESOL or Cambridge CELTA later on.

Become the exceptional English teacher your students deserve.
